EVENT RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
General principles
1 Definitions
- The Event - The Cheese LAN Event, in Green Bay, WI at the Beja Shriners building.
b. The Event Organizer / The Organizer – Justin Rasmussen from Gravity Jar, LLC
c. User - Every person that uses the System to register for the Event.
d. Participant - Natural persons, who are 18 years old and have full capacity to perform acts in law. Persons below the age of 18 and a minimum age of 14 are obliged to fill in the parental approval form, filled out and signed by the legal parents.
e. Registration system, hereinafter referred to as the System - An Internet application, owned by MYI Entertainment, which enables the supporting of the registering process for Participants of the Event.
f. Participation fee - The amount determined by the Event Organizer that must be paid by Participants, so as to confirm their participation in the Event.

- The scope of the System’s operation also includes a service that consists in the storing of User registrations in a database, and handling such registration, by the Organizer and/or Seller.
- The technical requirements regarding the using of the System are not much different from the technical requirements concerning the using of the Internet. The User must have a computer with Internet access, as well as software that enables viewing of its contents. It is recommended to use the following browsers: Mozilla Firefox version 77.0 or higher.
- The provisions contained in these Regulations constitute an integral part of applying for participation in the Event and are applicable to all Participants.
2 Terms and conditions of participation:
- By registering, Participants accept these Regulations.
- To participate in the Event Participants must:
a. Register for the Event, which can be done exclusively via an online form available at the Event’s website; and
b. Pay the Event fee, as defined by the Organizer under Art. 5 hereunder. - The Organizer reserves a right to alter the Event date for reasons beyond its control. The Organizer shall not be responsible for covering any additional expenses of the Participants made in association with the Event.
- The Participation fee will not be refunded in any case.
- The number of Event places is limited. Participants will be enlisted on the first come first serve basis.
- Reselling tickets is prohibited.
3 Online Event registration
- Participants can only register for the Event via an on-line form available at the address [registration form address]
- The Event shall be open for registration from the start of ticket sales until the last available place has been booked.
- During their registration process, Participants must fill all fields marked (* ).
- Participants thereby guarantee that all the details filled in is correct.
- When the registration form has been filled in and the data confirmed the system sends a message to the email address provided in the form, thus confirming the registration.
4 Event
- Tournament prizes will be given away at the award ceremony. If the winner is not present they forfeit their right to the prizes.
- The Event Organizer do not take any responsibility for the performance of artists and speakers or any other entertainment at the event.
- The Event Organizer reserve the right to change the stage program without further notice.
- A Participant intending to bring a clan transparent or to set up roll-ups or similar installations has to announce this to the Event Organizer at least two weeks before the Event. The request must provide information about the size, appearance and number of installations. Based on this data, the Organizer will decide if the installations will be approved at the Event. Without a confirmation of the Event Organizer no installations may be installed.
- Operation of generally disturbing equipment, particularly speakers or subwoofers is prohibited. The operation of electrical equipment, with the exception of computers, including but not limited to toasters, kettles, refrigerators, coffee machines, etc. is prohibited.
- The Event Organizer are not liable to prosecution for the content of computers of the Participants. Each Participant is personally responsible for his data. The use and possession of unlicensed software is prohibited; the Swiss law is in action at the Event.
- Each Participant is responsible for the protection of his computer on the network against viruses, spyware, etc. It is recommended to have an up-to-date antivirus program and firewall installed.
- The Event Organizer assume no liability for any direct, indirect or consequential damage of any kind and cause (for example, thefts of any kind, defects in materials, or consequential damages in power failure).
- Participants and visitors are to have sufficient accident and liability insurance.
- Each Participant and visitor adheres to himself for damages caused at the location.
- Participants must behave decently.
- Verbal or written statements (for example on shirts or on decals) which are vulgar, racist, sexist or discriminatory in other ways, are not allowed.
- Participants must follow the instructions of the Event Organizer, the Event crew and other authorities such as the police or security.
- Activities that are affecting the quality of the network and the Internet connection are not allowed.
- Spreading computer viruses, spyware, etc. is prohibited, even if they are spread unintentionally or against the better judgment of the Participant responsible.
- Hacking, the interception of login information etc. is prohibited.
- Outside of the location after 10 pm all Participants must remain silent.
- In the bedrooms, all Participants must remain silent.
- Participants are responsible that their seat and the area around it are clean. Participants must dispose of their waste independently in the marked container for PET, aluminum and glass.
- Alcohol is to be consumed according to common sense. For consumption and sale of alcohol the Swiss laws apply.
- Smoking inside of the buildings is prohibited.
- Any consumption of illegal drugs is prohibited.
- The Event Organizer have the right to adapt the seating plan in order to fill up the Event as efficient as possible. Reserving a seat does not grant the Participant the right to effectively receive the reserved seat.
5 Permission to use image
- During the Event, the Organizer may arrange photo sessions and may film the Event for the purposes of broadcasting in the media (TV, radio, Internet, press) or for the purposes of documentation, marketing, or advertising for the Organizer or other parties named by the Organizer. By participating in the Event Participants give their implicit permission for the recording, use an/or dissemination by the Organizer, parties related to it of each Participant’s image, voice, expression in any promotional and marketing materials without limitation of time or territory.
- This permission means specifically that photo, video and audio recordings taken during the Event may be placed on the Event website or another website managed by the Organizer, as well as used in marketing materials, including by dissemination in audio or video formats. The Participants hereby weave any claims (existing or future), including for compensation from the Organizer for such use of their image, voice or expression for the purposes defined hereunder.
6 Final provisions
- The Event Organizer shall act as the administrator of personal data of the Participants and Payers.
- The Event Organizer has entrusted, under a separate contract, the processing of personal data of the Participants and Payers to the Seller for the purposes of financial settlement of Event participation.
- Personal data of the Participant’s collected by the Event Organizer from the Event participation form shall be processed for the Event organization purposes in accordance with the Regulations.
- Without their knowledge and consent, personal data of the Participant of the Event or the Payer shall not be transferred to any other data administrators.
- The disclosure of personal data shall be voluntary and the Participants and Payers have a right to access and modify their personal data.
- The Organizer reserves the right to use the email address specified when registering for the Event to make send notifications to Participants of the Event, including about changes in the Event program or the Regulations.
- The Participants are required to observe the regulations document applicable at the venue of the Event, including especially principles of general safety, fire safety and security.
- During the Event, the Participants shall follow any housekeeping instructions that may be given by the Organizer and in particular shall refrain from recording of the keynote speech (in audio, video and photo formats, or any combination thereof).
- Should a Participant be found to be in breach of the Event Regulations, the Organizer shall have a right to refuse the Participant the right to participate in the Event and request him or her to leave the Event site or venue.
- The Event has a limited number of places for Participants. The Organizer reserves the right to reject registration requests when the limit is reached.
- The Organizer reserves the right to make changes in the Regulations. Upon an announcement by the Organizer of any changes to the Regulations, each Participant registered for the Event should immediately read such changes. Participants who do not accept any of the changes should notify of their position to the Organizer in writing via electronic channels at [email protected]. The notification should reach the Organizer within 14 days from the entering into force of such changed Regulations in failure of which the Organizer shall regard the changed Regulations to have been fully accepted by the Participants.

- Any disputes arising in relation to the Event participation shall be decided by courts with jurisdiction for the Organizer.
- The Organizers shall not be liable whatsoever for the Participants’ property that may be lost, destroyed or stolen during the Event.
- The Participants shall be fully liable for any damage they cause both in the venues involved in any Event activities and in their accommodation.
EVENT RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
By signing-up for and attending the Cheese LAN on July 18th, 2026, I fully and completely waive and release the Cheese LAN its chapters, directors, officers, administrators, representatives and executors, past and present employees, volunteers, agents, supervisors, participants, all state and local governments, assigns, sponsors, their representatives and successors and other persons (collectively, the “Releasees”), from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, and/or causes of action arising out of an injury to me (or my dependent) and from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, and/or cause of actions arising from, or relating to, my (or my dependent’s) participation or attendance in the Event.
Inherent and Potential Risks
I understand that the Event involves carrying, managing, and setting up my own computer equipment. I understand that physical activity, by its very nature, carries with it certain inherent risks. I assume all risks associated with participating in the Event, including relating to the risk of strenuous physical activity, tripping, collisions with other participants, or falling. I acknowledge that I may incur minor injuries, major injuries, and catastrophic injuries including paralysis and death. I assume all risks associated with coming into contact with other participants and volunteers (including, but not limited to, contracting a disease), collisions with other participants, vehicles, and pedestrians, negligent or wanton acts of other individuals, any defects of conditions of surfaces (including uneven or wet surfaces or gravel), failure of other participants, vehicles, and non-participants to yield or follow common practices or laws, and the effects of weather including high heat, thunderstorms, lightning, precipitation, cold temperatures, high winds, and/or humidity. I assume all risks associated with consuming any food or drink during the Event. I am solely responsible for any adverse health effects from food or beverage consumption, regardless of any allergy, known or unknown, that I may have. To the extent that applicable statute or case law does not prohibit releases for negligence, this release is also for negligence on the part of the Releasees.
I agree that the Releasees are not responsible for any personal items or property lost or stolen before, during, or after the Event.
Weapons are strictly prohibited at all Cheese LAN events. I agree not to bring a weapon of any kind to the Event, including all Cheese LAN sponsored pre and post Event activities.
Medical Evaluation
I attest that I am medically and physically able to participate in the Event. If I experience any doubt as to my (or any person listed on this Waiver’s) ability to successfully and safely participate in and/or complete the Event, I take full responsibility for consulting a physician. I attest that, if I am pregnant, disabled in any way, or have recently suffered an illness, injury, or impairment, I should have or did consult a physician prior to participating in the Event. I consent to emergency medical care and transportation in the event of injury to me as medical professionals may deem appropriate. This Waiver extends to any liability arising out of or in any way connected with the medical treatment and transportation provided in the event of an emergency, including, but not limited to, negligent emergency rescue operations.
Voluntary Participation
I am fully aware of the risks connected with participation in the Event, whether specifically listed in this Waiver or not, and I voluntarily elect to participate in the Event knowing that my participation involves these risks. My voluntary participation and waiver also acknowledge any additional risks occasioned by any inherent or previously-existing physical limitations, whether known to me or not, that I or my dependent may have. I understand that my participation in the Event accompanies a minimum fundraising obligation for the benefit of Cheese LAN.
Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability, Release, and Covenant Not To Sue
In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Event, I voluntarily agree for myself, my family, heirs, assigns, executors, and administrators to the following: 1. TO ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RISKS OF LOSS, OR PERSONAL INJURY, INCLUDING DEATH that may be sustained by me , or any loss or damage to property owned by me , as a result of participating in the Event. 2. TO RELEASE, WAIVE, HOLD HARMLESS, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the Releasees from any and all liability, claims, actions, demands, expenses, attorney fees, breach of contract actions, breach of statutory duty or other duty of care, warranty, strict liability actions, and causes of action whatsoever, that I might have or acquire in the future, arising out of or EVENT RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY 2 3.2023 related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me , or to any property belonging to me , while participating in the Event including, but not limited to, any claim that the act or omission complained of was caused in whole or in part by the negligence or carelessness of the Releasees.
Acknowledgement and Compliance with Rules
I agree to observe all rules and safety procedures that accompany Walk and to abide by any decision of an Event official relative to my (or my dependent’s) ability to safely participate in the Event. I agree to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times and to obey all laws. Cheese LAN and Event officials may dismiss me (or my dependent), without refund, should my (or my dependent’s) behavior endanger the safety of or negatively affect an event, person, facility, or property of any kind.
Contagious or Infectious Disease Acknowledgement
I hereby acknowledge and understand my participation includes the possible exposure to and illness from contagious or infectious diseases, such as the 2019 novel coronavirus (“COVID-19”). I accept the risk of life-threatening illness, temporary or permanent disability, or even death. I understand that the Cheese LAN cannot guarantee that I will not become infected with a contagious or infectious disease and that being at this event may increase my risk of contracting such disease or illness. Further, I knowingly and voluntarily agree to follow all required and relevant federal, state, local, and Cheese LAN guidelines and recommendations to maintain the health and safety of event attendees. I will not participate in the ride if I am sick or if I have knowingly been exposed to someone with symptoms of an infectious or contagious disease. Prior to the event, I acknowledge and agree that I will fully and truthfully fill out and sign any waivers, releases, and/or questionnaires that may be required of me by the Cheese LAN as a condition to volunteering at the event.
Severability
I agree that if any portion of this Waiver is deemed to be invalid, the remainder of the Waiver will still be binding and enforceable.
Photography and Website Release
By signing-up for and attending the Cheese LAN on July 18th, 2026, I hereby grant full permission to the Cheese LAN to use, reuse, reproduce, publish, or republish any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of my participation in this Event, including all Cheese LAN sponsored pre and post Event activities, in any medium now known or hereafter developed, alone or in conjunction with other material, without restriction as to changes or alterations, as well as to use my name, voice, likeness, and/or other indicia of identity, for editorial, educational, promotional, advertising, and commercial purposes, including without limitation in connection with the solicitation of contributions and the furtherance of the corporate objectives of the Cheese LAN. Further, I relinquish all rights, title, and interest in any and all photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or other records of the Event I may take or capture to the Cheese LAN. I grant permission for the Cheese LAN to publish and recognize my participation in event on its website. I acknowledge and represent that I have carefully read and understand all terms of this Waiver.
